Author of "Depth of Focus: A Novel," Kenya Dieja Williamson attended Philadelphia's Temple University before relocating to Los Angeles where she's performed in dozens of commercials, TV shows and movies. The Pennsylvania native and novelist is also a screenwriter for TV, film and the web.Kenya's performing background began in childhood with plays, musical theater, choirs and orchestras. Her writing began -- sparked by poets including Poe and Byron -- with poetry and eventually moved on to plays, scripts and fiction. After small roles in the Samuel L. Jackson film One Eight Seven (1997), The Players Club (1998) with Ice Cube and several TV shows -- Living Single (1993), Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993), Yes, Dear (2000), House M.D. (2004), etc. -- Kenya focused her attention on writing. Restricting her acting to commercials, a web series (for which she also wrote) and voicing a 9-year-old animated character named "Lorrin" for Health Nuts Media, she's written several scripts and is working on another novel.Daughter of Brenda Williamson, she has an official site which includes reels, photos, resumes, sneak peeks at her latest writing projects, news and contact information. Represented by Jay S. Kenoff, Esq. and the Cunningham Escott Slevin Doherty Talent Agency, she enjoys being both in front of and behind the camera. Show less «
