Katie Oliver was born in Dearborn, MI to Don and Laura Oliver. She was raised in Taylor, MI, a blue-collar town near Detroit. As a child Katie was active in cheer-leading and gymnastics, and performed in church theatre. She continued to perform in high school theatre, quit cheer-leading and started playing soccer. She received a soccer scholarship to University, where she auditioned for a student play, and was asked by the theatre professors to join the Theatre program. She studied Costume Design and Acting.Katie started doing film 5 years ago, when she met a Director that was looking to recast the lead in his feature. She landed the lead role of "Emily" in We Are Legion (2010), and soon after she was the lead in another feature as the heroine "Maggie" in 13th Sign (2011), which co-starred the singers from horror-core metal band, Mushroomhead. She continued working with Paramore Films, a Detroit Independant Production Company, on several projects including Hell on the Rocks (2014), Let the Child Dream (2014), and "Hamartia" in the short Hamartia (2013), in which she played an assassin, where she learned a 5-minute muay thai/jiu jitsu choreographed fight scene. In 2013 she played the wayward mother "Crystal" in Downriver (2013), which she won the Best Actress Award for from the Blue Water Film Festival (2014).Katie decided to continue training and pursuing acting in Los Angeles and moved there in 2013.. She joined the MAD Acting Studio within 3 months, where she still trains in dramatic and comedic improv, writes original material, and trains with Lee Aronsohn, Hollywood show-runner best known for Two and a Half Men, and Big Bang Theory.She started her own production company, Pink Clubhouse Productions in 2013. With her company she has written, produced. and starred in, Dream Americano (2015), Flowers for Monica (2015) and Spare Parts (2014). She helped produce Party Paula (2015) and the web series Keepin it 100 (2015). She was also a recurring role of "Jude" in the award winning web series Lost in LA (2014-) including Best Ensemble Cast in a Web Series from the Los Angeles Web Series Festival (2014), guest starred as "Tammy" in the pilot Close Enough (2015), played the lead role of "Rachel", in the feature The Woodsman (2015), produced by Harbinger Entertainment and Directed by Pul Leach, and most recently co-starred as "Millie" in The Minus Touch (2017) directed by Lee Aronsohn.In addition to acting, writing and producing, she also plays guitar and writes and performs music as a solo act under the name Dotty Killjoy.
