Writer and producer Kathryn Dahlstrom, a born-and-bred Minnesotan with a degree in Vocal Music Education from Bemidji State University, switched careers from teaching to writing in 1990. After four years of studying the craft of novel writing, she debuted as a children's author with a six book fiction series called The Good News Club. Her next effort, a juvenile fantasy novel published in 2012 titled "Children of Angels," won Gold in the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards and Silver in the Illumination Book Awards. In 2013, She began a writing partnership with Mark Cramer, co-writing "The Land of Beyond Belief," a children' s fantasy that won Silver and Bronze in the same two contests. In 2005, she studied under Hal Croasmun of ScreenwritingU, recognized as one of the best online screenwriting courses in the business. She was named a producer on two family films and in 2020, enjoyed her screenwriting debut with Magic Max (2020), co-written with Cramer and Wayne Mitchell.
