She relocated to Los Angeles in 2012 to pursue acting both on the stage and the screen. Kate is a member of the sketch comedy troupes Burger Time and St. Luke's Roosevelt and performs regularly at iOWest as well as UCB. She is the niece of actor Michael Donaldson.
