After many years working in business, Karen returned to acting in 2014. She spent a year getting back on the horse by doing indie projects and student films.During her earlier go-round as an actor, Karen's first acting teacher was the very talented actress/director, Myra Turley. She then went on to study in New York City with Bart Teusch, Jose Quintero, and Elizabeth Dillon at HB Studios. She performed in several off-off plays at the American Theatre Of Actors and at the 14th St. Playhouse. She relocated to Los Angeles in 1985, and worked assisting writer/director H. Kaye Dyal on several indie films. Karen also joined Lonny Chapman's Group Repertory Theatre in 1985 and appeared in several of their productions, including the West Coast Premiere of "Death Of A Miner" in the lead role, the LA Premiere of "Demons & Angels" as Mary Wollstonecraft, and opposite Lonny Chapman as Miss Fancy in "Sly Fox."In 1996, Karen married New York Times & USA Today best-selling author David R. George III. She quit acting in 1998 and went to work assisting a variety of producers in sitcom production, including the venerable Frank Pace. She also assisted highly accomplished sci-fi writer/director/producer Brannon Braga. She eventually segued into Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. In 2007, she was made Manager, Sales Operations, Motion Picture Domestic Sales, from which she took early retirement to return to acting.
