Kacy Tiller was born in Bristol, TN. She never thought she'd be an actress. She began acting in plays through her high school's drama club. As a senior in high school, she applied for the Fine and Performing Art Scholars Program through the Honors College at East Tennessee State University. She was selected for the program and given a full scholarship to study Theatre.From there, she used her time at the university to study many different areas of theatre. She studied lighting design, makeup design, scenic design, dance (aerial, jazz, tap, modern, ballet, ballroom and musical theatre), film and etc. She was also involved in many productions on campus and off campus. She worked as a Lighting Design Assistant for the theatre department when she wasn't in class. During her senior year, she became president of the Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society. She also served on the Honors College Student Council as an art scholar representative her sophomore year.Before graduating East Tennessee State University, she wrote an honors thesis called "Jehanne: The Legacy of a True Heroine" that covered topics ranging from Mark Twain to Joan of Arc and medieval history. She adapted Mark Twain's novel "Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc" into a full length play. Kacy was awarded Outstanding Senior in Theatre and the Murvin H. Perry Creative Achievement Award for her work on her honors thesis by the East Tennessee State University Department of Communication.
