Justin Krivda's training began in high school in Metro-Detroit under the direction of award-winning theatre educator John W. Rutherford. Krivda continued honing my craft through college and grad school at the University of Chicago, where he developed into a dedicated character actor. The work of playing is to be with another perspective-to exist from the worldview of the spirit of a poem. Powerful character-building principles, gestural-movement techniques, and diligent collaboration allow me to discover the brain-space of a character within his own.Krivda's style: learning to live with the character's ways of thinking and feeling, memories and emotions, motivations, anxieties, habits, relationships, and what it is to experience all of these in relation to scene-partners and the performance environment.Krivda plays stage, film, and voice characters and is represented in Detroit by The i Group.To-date, Krivda has played in more than sixty stage, film, voice, and commercial projects, and have written, performed vocals, piano, and trumpet for over fifteen albums in hip-hop, jazz, blues, and pop a cappella genres. Krivda also holds BAs in Physics and English Language and Literature, as well as an MA in Philosophy, from UChicago.
