June Hammerstein, after starring in Edge of Hell (1956), a part Hugo Haas wrote for her, married Ramblin' Jack Elliott and they set off to travel their way around the world with music. They spent 5 years all over Europe and which point, June left Jack and worked on the film Exodus (1960) in Israel. She then headed for the Far East, where she acted in Japanese and American film in Japan and dubbed over 300 Japanese films into English. She was Shirley MacLaine's stand-in in in the film Ma geisha (1962) and had a small role in Les 3 soldats de l'aventure (1964). Returning to Europe, she lived in France for 17 years and was married to writer Sidney Shelley. She became _The Rolling Stones''s personal assistant when they came to France for a tax exile in the 70's. She also acted in several films that were shot in Paris, among them: Le chevalier des sables (1965), Trois chambres à Manhattan (1965) and Enigme à Central Park (1967). She returned to America in 1980 and worked for ABC for 13 years, followed by 5 years at RKO. She wrote a book about her life which has been optioned for a film. She is currently writing a screenplay based on the book. Show less «
