Joshua Jonathan Diolosa was born in Queens, New York on September 30th, 1985. His father, Nicholas, was a New York City Court Clerk who had a passion for singing. His mother, Susan, is a hairstylist and pianist. From an early age, music has been a major part of Joshua's life. His mother began teaching him piano at 3 years old, and, after his parent's were divorced, he began learning how to sing in his father's car while listening to doo wop music. He went on to also play the cello and violin all before 10 years old. At 11 years old, due to his stepfather, Gary's influence, Joshua began learning how to play guitar. This would become his primary instrument of choice.Joshua began acting a very early age as well. Being raised going to church gave Joshua the opportunity to take part in many religious plays growing up. It was evident at an early age, through his music and acting, that Joshua was destined to be a performer. As he got older, he continued performing in any plays that he could. He also began writing music and performing his original songs.After graduating high school, Joshua attended Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY for Music. There he studied classical, jazz, and blues guitar. The school also allowed him to further his acting training and craft by being a member of the Performing Art's Club and frequently acting on the stage and taking acting classes. Urged by his family to have another degree as well, Joshua decided to study Psychology. He felt that by studying the mind it would allow him to better achieve the characters he would play on stage and later in film.Joshua graduated with a BFA in Music Performance, and a BS in Psychology. It was at this time that Joshua began taking classes at the prestigious HB Studio in New York City. Due to a fear of failure and family urgings, he then attended Adelphi University in Garden City, NY to obtain his MA in Forensic Psychology. It was after he finished graduate school when two significant events took place for Joshua's career.While attending an acting conference in New York City, Joshua met actress Olympia Dukakis. After giving him some crucial advice for his career, Joshua began to consider her as a mentor and maintained contact with her. She sent him to her daughter, Christina Zorich, for private acting instruction. This further helped Joshua to better his craft. This is when he decided to completely devote his life to acting and music.Around this time, Joshua also played his first lead role in the independent feature film Miserable Man (2010). This film allowed Joshua to use his improvisation training to the fullest extent as the dialogue was completely improvised. Unfortunately, The film did not achieve much notice and Joshua felt he needed to do more to achieve his career goals.Joshua moved to Los Angeles, California in 2011. After a slow start, in 2012, he was asked to play his first role in a major motion picture. In 2013, he began shooting Weekend Showcase (2013) which would once again allow him to utilize his improvisation training.
