Josh Margulies is an award winning comedic, romantic and dramatic actor. He has earned recognition in his breakthrough role as the lead in a comedic pilot where he plays the champion "sex-alete"- in a world where sex is a televised sport, "Coitus of the Week". The pilot won best pilot in the 2016 Sunset Film Festival in Los Angeles. He attends the Cannes Film Festival every year. He is an award winning producer and writes every day.Margulies is also a traveler and legendary world surfer. He was born in Nepal under a full moon, held by mother Theresa and raised in Hawaii. His father Edward Margulies was a doctor of medicine who attended Johns Hopkins and traveled the earth for his residency. Edward found himself on an adventure in the Himalayas and ran into Sherry Allen, Josh's mother, who was cruising around doing missionary work.Josh's love for performance came from the age of 5 when he and his brother would perform plays for the guests at their grandparents home in Hawaii. The audience may have been of very high stature since his grandfather initiated tourism and travel to Hawaii as the President of the Hawaii Bureau of Tourism. As a child he traveled through Southeast Asia, the Bahamas, & Europe with his parents. He also has lived in Bali, Guyana, Timor, Holland, and wait for it....Baltimore.Josh's love for cinema began in city college when he borrowed a super 8 camera, grabbed his snowboard and hitchhiked to the mountains of Lake Tahoe, California. When he developed the film footage of his adventure and saw it on the big screen the filmmaking seed was planted. He was hand-picked to attend an exchange program at University of Technology in Sydney on scholarship. There he traveled up, down and across the great Australian continent and surf trekked to Thailand, Fiji & Indonesia. Josh also produced and directed several films and plays during his college career.His acting film debut came in college when he was asked to star in a remake of the Maltese Falcon. He played the Humphrey Bogart character "Sam Spade". He is a confident playful and rugged actor. In several other college films he has played the best friend, playboy or guy's guy. He has had roles ranging from physician, bartender, coach to CEO and stockbroker. His acting technique is bold and friendly.His favorite color is all shades of blue and his favorite food is pizza. He was featured in "The Artist" (best picture 2012). That year he debuted the Hollywood Fringe Festival and won an award as best actor.. He has written articles on the side for his motherland newspaper: The Himalayan Times. He has written a feature length script and a book about his family history which illustrates the life of his presidentially honored grandfather. Josh Margulies continues to establish himself as an international influence adding value to the film and television industry in a genuine and provocative manner.
