Born in Hollywood to South Vietnamese immigrants, Joseph's upbringing has been anything but ordinary. From a young age, his parents encouraged him to develop an interest in the arts - as dance teachers, his parents taught him ballroom dancing. When they opened their own studio, Joseph became a dance teacher (often dancing with partners older and taller than he).At the age of ten, he became interested in magic. With a book from the local library, Joseph was able to teach himself enough basic magic to impress local kids. The interest persisted, and led to an invitation to join the junior program at the Magic Castle in Hollywood - one of the oldest and most famous institutions of magic in the world. Joseph quickly distinguished himself as an excellent stage performer and entertainer, performing exclusive routines that were handed down to him by some of the most famous and successful magicians of the 20th century. In 2001, Joseph won the Magic Castle Junior Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a young magician. He continued to develop his artistic abilities through high school with work in the Theatre department and roles in several plays. He attended a magnet school for the performing arts. His next stop was college - he attended and graduated from California State University at Northridge with a degree in Theatre and Multimedia Production. While pursuing his degree, he studied acting with Lillian Lehman and expanded his skills to acting for the camera. There, he landed his first major role in "We Were Soldiers." This was followed by a starring role in "Coyote Waits" and various other productions. When not acting on film or Television, Joseph tours with his magic show. He has performed for audiences all over the world, and is considered one of the most prominent Asian entertainers working today. His current film work is mostly behind the camera, as writer, producer, and director. Joseph is also the Creative Director of Moving Train Pictures, a bi-coastal production company. His films have been screened as several festivals and have won a dozen collective awards. Joseph continues to challenge himself and his team to tell innovative, entertaining stories.
