Joe was born in Wurzburg, Germany at the end of 1958, to and America GI, Joseph W. Griffenberg and his wife, Shirley Ford, both from Philadelphia, Pa, USA. Joe lived and went to school in Ardsley, Pa in the sixties and early seventies. At an early age Joe was intrigued by television and film and spent many hour watching old movies and current shows on his parents B&W television. While the other kids were out playing tag and stick ball, Joe was pretending to be his favorite television and movie heroes. In 1973 the family moved to Las Vegas, NM and ran a KOA Kampground. He graduated from Robertson High in 1976 and joined the US Navy. After serving a four year term, he returned to Las Vegas to help his family run their KOA. He got his first taste of the movie business working as an extra in the movies, "Red Dawn" and "The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez". After a few years he moved to Albuquerque and attended college at the University of New Mexico. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis on television production. He then joined the workforce and became a furniture salesman leaving his film and television aspirations behind. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Sandy for the past 23 years. She was the star of several of the short films he produce at UNM. Joe returned to his love of film and TV in 2006, and worked as the prop master and script supervisor on the Duke City Shoot Out project "Maklar Anyone?" As Albuquerque grew as a location for film and television, Joe began to work in 2007 as a background artist which is also known as an extra. His first background role was that of a wedding guest in the television show "Wildfire". He was then cast as a police officer in the Christian Slater film "Love Lies Bleeding". He returned to "Wildfire" and was cast as a racetrack official. He was hooked and worked for the next five years on several movies and television shows. He enjoys changing his appearance to fit the character and the time period he is portraying. In 2010, Joe worked as a body double for Richard Jenkins and a stand in for Elias Koteas in the film "let Me In". By 2012, Joe has worked as a extra for sixteen films and four television shows. He plans to continue working on films and television projects.In December 2012, Joe entered the Bryan Cranston "Walter White" look alike contest on the After After Party television show. He and another contestant were both pronounced the winners. As a result, he was hired and worked behind the scenes and on three episodes of Breaking Bad, season 5, as Bryan Cranston's photo double.
