Born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers, New York, Joseph Falasca is the eldest of three siblings. His mother's family was originally from Vilnius, Poland and his father's family emigrated from Terracina, Italy. When Joseph was nine he was an altar boy at Saint Peter's in South Yonkers. After a while, he started skipping church and escaped to the neighborhood movie house where he fell in love with films like MASH, The Godfather, and Bonnie and Clyde. Joseph then attended Fordham Prep in the Bronx, where he read Pauline Kael's New Yorker film reviews religiously throughout high school.Joseph was awarded a scholarship to attend Holy Cross College in Worcester Massachusetts, where he studied History and Economics. While at College, Joseph played varsity baseball until he was sidelined by an injury. He also played ice hockey and flag-football, as well as being a founding member of the inter-collegiate ultimate Frisbee club. As a Senior, Joseph starred as "Big Deal" in a production of "West Side Story," which rekindled his love of acting.On graduating college, Joseph entered the world of advertising in New York City, working on Madison avenue for some of the biggest and most respected agencies in the world. Joseph went through the Professional Training Program at J. Walter Thompson before moving on to BBDO, where he worked as an Account Executive for Phil Dusenberry on Pepsi-Cola. While at BBDO Joseph collaborated with directors such as Joe Pytka, Joe Sedelmaier, Bob Giraldi and David Fincher. During this period, Joseph's team won a Clio Award, and was nominated for the Palme D'Or at Cannes.Following a dream he had since childhood, Joseph left advertising in New York and started working in Theater. His theater company produced several off-off Broadway plays, and Joseph was cast in scores of theatrical productions at small theaters throughout Soho, Tribeca and Greenwich Village. He also performed in several Off-Broadway productions at the Vineyard Theater and Playwright's Horizons.Joseph moved to Hollywood several years ago to pursue work in Film and Television. He is also enrolled in a Master's program at USC. Joseph is an avid photographer, and has written and produced news stories and documentaries for Pacifica Radio. He has written a feature film which is in development called "Mate for Life," a dark comedy about a sexually repressed member of a terrorist cell looking for love in Los Angeles. In his free time Joseph likes to run, and take trips out to Joshua Tree. Show less «
