Joseph Cannata is a Toronto born Actor/model. After completing two years at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying communication and film. He opted to invest the little money he had with acting courses in Toronto. With no real acting experience, he was able to secure an agent who urged him to get head shots and start taking acting classes.Within a few weeks he booked a commercial for Much Music and a Canada wide print ad for Virgin Mobile. In the next two years he was part of several big print campaigns again with Virgin Mobile as well as Dentyne, Air Canada, Harry Rosen, and listerine. Joseph's success in print translated into working in commercials as well, having worked in spots for Abreva, Hakim Optical, Dentyne, Olympics 2010, Gillette, Adidas, Nike, RBC, Listerine and the Video Music awards with Canadian Hip Hop artist Drake. As well as world wide campaigns for Woodford, Camp David, and Canon.Joseph's first television (series) role came in "Urban Legends" as "Tom" the prankster medical student. He also booked a small role in the Pilot for "What's in a Name", a 13-part series. His feature film debut came in 2010 for the role of Dan, in DarkHouse Films horror/thriller "The Unleashed". After working on that film Joseph began to turn his attention more toward film and television work. Working with established indie genre filmmakers in Canada. 2015 has been a big year for Joseph as he's now represented worldwide in both Film and Print work. Set to release a short film and a small role in a Canadian feature film later this year.
