Jon Birkbeck was brought up in a loving family in Bristol. He and his twin brother always had a weird side to their nature (probably owing to having half a brain each), and it was always comedy, storytelling and imagination that were Jon's quirks.When in year 6, Jon performed as the Artful Dodger in primary school and smashed it!!! Why? - He was the only kid in a fully Bristolian school to bother putting on a cockney accent!Having discovered his passion at 10 years old, he pursued acting further. GCSEs, BTECs, countless performances, television workshops and lines later, he attended the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David in Carmarthen and gained his BA Acting degree (and a wife). Education over, he was ready to face the wide world of performing arts... or so he thought.With all manner of skills and lessons learned, Jon went back to Bristol. There he almost died of chronic 'Uni-is-over-and-I'm-back-where-I-blinking-started-itus' - which is a thing.Not wanting to waste any more time, Jon headed to the capital of the world: London - in his opinion. His first professional job (after waitering - every actor must wait tables) was with a blacklisted director (CV explains all) and the ball rolled from there. Jon did a tour, performing to care homes, and thought that there was prospect in it, so helped create a professional touring theatre company, specialising in shows to care, nursing and residential homes.After Jon left the company (because he wanted to act, not run a business), he continued down the path of growing his career. With ups and downs, highs and lows, short films and TV shows, Jon Birkbeck is ever slowly moving from a nobody to an anybody, and hopes to one day be a somebody.This writer would say, good luck to him!
