Born and raised on Long Island, John Theissen Jr. has always had a strong passion for cinema. At a young age John would make films with friends and would recreate scenes from his favorite films on his video camera. In high school he began to take film classes where he discovered he wanted to be a filmmaker. At the age of sixteen he directed his first feature film, Duet. Since the release of Duet, the film has went on to be selected at multiple film festivals and win multiple awards such as, Best Director (SBFF 2017) and Best Screenplay (NYLIFF 2019). John Theissen Jr. made his lead acting debut in 2021's Loving Polly. The film was also directed, written, produced, and shot by John Theissen Jr.. Loving Polly has won John the NYLIFF 2022's Best Actor and Best Horror Film. The film's popularity has continued to grown into cult status. John promises that his career is still yet to blossom and his best work is ahead of him. Show less «
