John Milton Branton is known for directing the political thriller, "Dark Power", and the psychological thriller, "Absolute Fear", which he also wrote and co-produced; and as the 2nd Unit Director for 26 episodes of "The New Addams Family Series" for Fox TV and the features "Pernicious" and "Special Ops". He produced, wrote and directed "Tears of a Lotus" which won numerous Best Film and Best Director awards, was invited to more than 30 international film festivals, including Toronto, Montreal, Palm Springs, Bilbao and St. Perersburg, and aired on TV in Canada, the US, the Czech Republic and Russia. He co-produced Stealing Roses, which won Best of Fest and Best Actor Awards for John Heard and Cindy Williams at the LA Comedy Festival. JM has filmed in China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines as well as the US and Canada. JM began his career as an actor in Toronto, appearing in more than 50 plays, television programs and movies before moving into directing. He was the Artistic Director of three Equity theater companies and plays he directed received 17 Sterling Award nominations, winning seven, including Best New Play and Best New Musical. He holds an MFA from York University and is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School. He is married to Ermalin Plarisan and they have two sons, Stone Milton and Olen John. He has a daughter, Emerald Branton-Bond, from a previous marriage to Julie Bond. He divides his time between his home in the Philippines and work in Bangkok, Los Angeles and Vancouver.
