John was born in the North Queensland town of Mackay and after proving his wares on the Rugby League field boy, as most young men in North Queensland do, he was offered a professional playing contract at the North Queensland Cowboys. After 15 NRL games and 7 years laden with injuries and surgery he moved south to join the Melbounre Storm. Half way through this season his career was effectively ended by his 3rd right knee reconstruction. Following this blow John decided to pursue his childhood love of acting. John studied under Damien Rossi and Andrew Buchanan in Brisbane and later moved to Sydney completing 2 courses at Sydney's prestigious National Institue of Dramatic Art. John has since completing study at North Sydney's The Actors Hub as well as numerous masterclass sessions with renowned casting directors and teachers such as Tom McSweeney and Jose Element. John has appeared in numerous TV commercials with his latest work being the wall smashing and contract tearing character of 'Alinta Man' for newly expanding energy provider Alinta Energy. He Featured in an episode of Tricky Business opposite Lincoln Lewis and in the tele-movie 'Dripping in Chocolate' opposite David Wenham. Show less «
