His grand-uncle was the internationally recognized composer Hugo Alfvén, and his grandfather Hannes Alfvén won the noble prize in physics in 1970. At the age of twelve he appeared in Georg Riedel's musical "Barfotaliv" which became his first encounter with the stage. At 21 he was one of 7 out of 800 applicants who were accepted to The National Theatre Academy in Gothenburg where he studied acting for four years.
