Joe, or Javier, was born in Guadalajara Mexico to merchant parents who moved to the U.S. (the San Francisco Bay Area Mission District) when he was only two. Moving constantly, at age fourteen they ended up in Los Angeles where he starred in his first play "Romeo & Juliet". Two Shakespearean awards later (national first and third) he ended up starring in the televised version of The Death of Mrs. McCain for (then) KNXT-TV (CBS). Presently, Joe Rodriguez commands a commercial and print career known for once spokesman (Emilio Ortega)of Ortega Food Products and a variety of other commercials and print ads among television and film credits in Young & the Restless, General Hospital, Viva Vegas, Los Beltran, Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag and A Man Apart. Joe's voice is also featured on shows like the Latin Billboard Music Awards, MTV's Rock the Vote, Latin Grammy's, Imagen Awards. Rodriguez has also written and produced for television "Cinco de Mayo/La Verdadera Historia" KVEA/Telemundo, "Olvera Street/The Heart of Los Angeles" KCET/PBS, and once Productor General for Hoy en La Cultura in Mexico City. Today, as member of "Friends of Boyle Heights", a committee working with The Boyle Heights Technical Youth Center and the Mayor of Los Angeles, he shares his support with a team of "Industry" experts to create fund-raising for the Film and Music programs hosted at The Boyle Heights Youth Technical Center in a neighborhood once plagued by drugs and violence.
