Joe Rodriguez is a New York-based actor, comedian, writer, and director. After creating short amateur sketches for the YouTube, he began studying comedic improv in South Florida when he was 18. Under the direction of UCB Alumna, Kat Kenny, Joe performed with troupes "Adult Beverage" and "Friends with Benefits." He has taken classes and performed with The Upright Citizen's Brigade, David Razowsky, Sick Puppies Comedy, Bob Carter's Actors Rep, Just the Funny, and more.In 2012, Joe enrolled at NYU's film program at Tisch School of the Arts. His first student film was honored as a finalist at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. His senior project, Mr. Madison (2014), was a comedic drama about impersonating his grandfather. The film went on to win The Russell Hexter Filmmaker Grant, Malcolm Ross Memorial Production Award, and "Best Actress," for co-star, C.J. Gelfand at the 2015 First Run Festival. After graduating, Joe made a comedic web series called "Weather Together" with fellow "Friends with Benefits" troupe member, Carrie Gregory. The duo played two terrible meteorologists who consistently blundered the South Florida broadcast. Carrie and Joe co-wrote and starred in six or so episodes, 2 to 5 minutes each. Their sketches featured wacky behavior- from getting lettuce stuck in their teeth to reacting to nonexistent tornados. Show less «
