Joseph Lance Christopher Munroe Jr. was born on September 25th, 1992 in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada. The fifth child of Lance Munroe from Cornwall, Ontario and Mary Munroe from Worcester, Massachusetts, owners of a gas station video store called Hilltop Esso in the tiny town of Keremeos, British Columbia. 3 of his 4 siblings are no longer with us. First born brother Adam passed away in the crib of SIDS on New Year's Day of 1980. The second Baby boy was a still born in 1983. His oldest sister, Rosie, was born in 1985 and is mom to his two nephews Grayson and Ethan. His middle sister, Amanda, was born in 1988 and victim to a fatal car accident in 2005. He lived the first 17 years of his life in the same town with the same friends (which he still has) which led to him being a daydreamer, planning to leave as soon as possible and meet everyone in the world. As a teen, sports consumed his life living in a small town with not much else to do he was a running, hockey, basketball, track & field and soccer star. After high school in 2010 he enrolled at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops where he "studied" business. At 18, after two semesters of paying tuition and not going to class, he spent his last $267 on a plane ticket and moved to Cancun to become part of the entertainment staff at an all inclusive resort called GR Solaris. After spending 4 months in Mexico he returned and got a job in Northern Canada working the oil rigs and saved up to make it back to school the following semester. Another four months of not finding interest in school led him to booking another ticket to Mexico where he lived for the next two years from 2013-2015. This time he went further south to Huatulco where he worked with the entertainment staffs at Secrets Huatulco and Dreams Huatulco. After a year in Huatulco his old boss Ramon from Cancun called him back to work at GR Solaris. During his time in Mexico he met people from all walks of life from all over the world who inspired him to follow his dreams and taught him many angles of the human condition, learned Spanish and gained a special place in his heart for Latino culture. Tacos, Horchata and Mezcal. Falling in love with entertainment and connecting with an audience things came full circle for Joey because he is still that kid sitting behind the cash register on a milk crate watching movies at his parents video store. Through getting lost he found himself and realized that the only thing he wanted to do was act in movies. He quit his job, gave up the sun and the tequila, and moved to Vancouver to begin his acting pursuit. He very quickly realized that between commercial and TV auditions he should be networking, writing, studying the craft and creating his own work. His experience in Mexico came in handy when his first TV job came in the form of a role on the Bravo show Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce playing a male stripper. His first commercial gig landed him as the face of Gillette in 2016. He waited tables for 5 years before finally being able to focus fully on acting and filmmaking. After writing, producing, directing and acting in 130 online comedy sketches and dozens of short films, he shifted his focus to doing the only thing he's ever wanted to do, make feature films of the Action, Crime, Drama, Thriller genres. In 2020 he had small roles in 2 films starring Bruce Willis which will be released in 2021 and 2022. It was during these films when he was inspired to take the step to focus on developing feature films with Hollywood stars. Joe has several acting projects slated for 2021 and beyond. Show less «
