Joe Baker was born on June 29, 1969 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He currently lives in Southlake, Texas with his wife Jill and their two children Mia and Joey. Baker began his football career playing collegiate football at Princeton University graduate where he played wide receiver for four years. Following graduation he made his NFL coaching debut in 1995 when he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as the assistant special teams coach. Throughout the 1990s he stayed with the Jaguars while taking time to return to college football coaching for the University of Wisconsin. In 2000 he became part of the coaching staff for the New Orleans Saints where he spent five seasons before a short stint with the St. Louis Rams in 2006 and then the Denver Broncos before landing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the defensive backs coach in 2009. He became part of the Dallas coaching staff in 2012. Overall he has 21 years of NFL coaching experience and three years of collegiate coaching experience. Since joining the Dallas Cowboys, Baker has helped foster team cornerbacks and safeties, while helping the team nab multiple division championships.
