A late bloomer, Jim did not begin his acting career until 1994 when, after many unfulfilling years in the "business world", he decided to finally follow his dream. Starting at the bottom, he dove headlong into acting and movement classes, the gym, and community theatre. In 1996 he landed his first professional stage role, and later moved on to commercials, industrials, TV, and film. Most recently, he portrayed Sheriff Bill Malone in the independent feature film Charlie's War (2003) (starring Olympia Dukakis, Lynn Redgrave, Diane Ladd, and Bobbie Eakes ). Along the way, he has performed with a number of prominent regional theatres including The Tennessee Repertory Theatre, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Broadaxe Theatre, bScott Productions, Actor' Theatre of New Orleans, and Cripple Creek Theatre Co. in New Orleans. He has been cast in a wide range of character types, from leading men (such as Sherlock Holmes in "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" and Tom Sergeant in "Skylight") to villains (such as Mr. Klemper in "The Boys Next Door" and Judge Wargrave in "Ten Little Indians"), to countless "normal" people (dads, brothers, husbands, businessmen, etc.). Jim is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and a native of Nashville, Tennessee. He presently resides in New Orleans, but travels wherever the opportunities present themselves.
