Born into a family who was passionate about music, Star Trek and Horror Films, she got an early start in the performing arts in 1999, inspired by the Broadway production of CATS that had passed through Edmonton the year before. Two worn-out VHS tapes and a cat costume later, she was enrolled in summer drama camp at her local theatre. Private coaching for dancing and vocal training soon followed. In 2012 Jessica auditioned for a local production of CATS, in turn landing the role of Exotica, feeling as though her dream had finally come full circle. Six months later, now at the end of the production, Jessica felt she had truly found her calling. Jessica's acting continued on, finding her in 2014 as she started to explore positions behind the scenes, starting as a backstage hand and then on to Stage Manager and Lighting/Sound Technician. After several years of volunteering, learning the ins and outs of the industry as much as she could, she realized there weren't enough resources for her to pursue a film career within the confinement of the tiny northern Alberta town she called home.Jessica found herself in Vancouver, finally fully pursuing a career in film and TV. Training with Johannah Newmarch and Marc-Anthony Massiah, Jessica took her passion for acting to new heights. Through the course of working on independent and union film sets, her path eventually crossed with Leigah Keewatin, who brought her into Assistant Direct an independent short film.
