From Bundjalung (Byron Bay) to Naarm (Melbourne), Jess Lu (they/she) is a Malay-Chinese/Australian actor that began their roots in youth educational theatre. After moving across states to study at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), they have played Antonio in "Twelfth Night"(dir. Sarah Cathcart), Helen in "Machinal" (dir. Daniela Farinacci) and Public in "Gaban" (dir. Budi Miller). Across the screens Jess has appeared in "Neighbours" (dir. Declan Eames) as Nora Ahmadi, Australian web series "Scattered" (dir. Logan Mucha), a feature in "Make the Grade" music video (dir. Domini Marshall), and the lead in multiple graduate and masters short films across Melbourne's most prestigious film schools. Jess also vastly enjoyed directing 2021 short film "Even the Dinosaurs Were Young", and plans to pursue directing in the future.
