Jerry Beharry grew up in a racially diverse, but rough area known as Dorchester, a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. Jerry is the oldest son of Roy, a former chef turned business owner, and Zennifer Beharry (Mohammed) a PBX operator. Jerry has a younger sister, Jennifer, and also has an older half-brother, Roy, from his father's previous marriage prior meeting his mother. Both parents were of Caribbean descent, having been born and raised in Trinidad, an island nation in the West Indies.Raised in a strict Caribbean household, thoughts of things such as acting and voiceover work were not seen as 'realistic' life goals. To immigrant parents who left everything behind to find a better life in The United States, the only career options for him would be 'white-collar', as his parents wanted to ensure that he never had to suffer for anything they way they had to during their childhood. His parents sometimes worked multiple jobs in pursuit of providing their children the life they were never able to have as kids. As such, the budding interests in the entertainment industry that Jerry had in his youth could never fully be pursued. HIs parents knew that the odds of making a decent living in that world were slim, and to give him a decent shot, they also knew that they'd likely need to send him to special schools, specializing in performing arts, theater, and the like. They simply didn't have the means to provide him with that kind of support.Jerry's parents relocated the family from their rough neighborhood in 1988, bound for Kissimmee, Florida. It was a different world for the Beharry family, but especially for Jerry, who began to show strong academic promise, which was something the he was unable to prioritize while growing up dealing with the day-to-day violence in his former hometown. In Florida, Jerry would later attend a startup high school as a freshman in 1991, which didn't yet have a campus, and instead existed on the campus of another high school, in portable/trailer classrooms. By the next year, his fledgling class made their way onto their own campus, but a theater was not to be constructed during his time there. There was no mature or established theater program, and as a result, he shifted all of his focus to sports (football and baseball). After graduation in 1995 in the top 2% of his class, he would go on to pursue Pre-Med studies at the University level, double-majoring in both Biology and Psychology, and after 4 years, earned both degrees in 1999. It was at this time that he realized that his medical pursuits were not truly his desire, and he then set out on a path to find a way to make a living until he could figure out what he wanted to do.After graduation, and without a clear path to follow, Jerry would spend a brief stint in homelessness as he lived out of his car, but due to his immense pride and independent nature, he refused to let any family or friends know of his situation. During that time, he managed to land a job as a customer service representative for a major telecommunications company. During this time, he continued to live in his car, spending his nights in a remote corner of the parking lot. As an employee benefit, he was able to use the company's gym, restroom, and shower facilities as a part of his daily routine. Eventually, he saved enough money to get an apartment, and from that moment, he began to build a new life. That job later lead to a full-blown IT career, and in 2003, Jerry married his then fiancee, Neha. Together, they had 2 children: a son, Jayan in 2006, and a daughter, Avni, in 2010. Now with a family and financial obligations (as well as an unexpected company relocation to Atlanta, Georgia), any chance of a career in the entertainment industry seemed an unreachable goal, especially in wake of a rough economy in 2009 and ensuing recession. Any efforts to pursue such dreams had seemingly faded. It wasn't until the passing of his father many years later, in July of 2021, that Jerry's spark to pursue his dream was re-kindled. Thoughts of his own mortality reinvigorated his desires to pursue his dream, realizing that he was now in his 40's, and running out of time to make a serious effort. After his father's funeral in Florida in the summer of 2021, Jerry returned home to Atlanta, and started to take steps that he had long avoided. Pushing all self-doubt, fear, and uncertainty aside, he began using his voiceover contacts (a side-hustle that he had been dabbling in for a few years), and took the next step toward landing on-screen gigs. Jerry was apprehensive, primarily due to his lack of formal training/experience, but realized that a lot of his voiceover training did apply very well to life as an on-screen talent. To his surprise, the offers began to come in during the Fall of 2021. Starting in 2022, Jerry landed 5 on-screen roles, as well as voiceover and narration roles. They covered a number of production companies, including Marvel Studios, Netflix, Disney, The CW, Apple Original Movies, Warner Brothers/Warner Media, and The Discovery Channel/Discovery+, to name a few. With determination, an ability to take direction well, and an athletic background (including football, baseball, and martial arts), Jerry continues use his talents and abilities to build relationships across the industry, and continues to make strides toward becoming a more recognizable figure in the film industry.
