Jeremy Bloom was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on April 2, 1982 to his mother, Char Bloom, a ski and fly-fishing instructor, and his father, Larry Bloom, a psychology professor at Colorado State University. Jeremy, his older sister Molly, and his older brother, Jordan, all grew up skiing at Keystone Resort, where Char is a ski instructor. At age 15, Jeremy joined the US Freestyle Ski Team. At 19, he was the #1 ranked men's freestyle skier in the world, and competed in the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, where he placed 9th. He also competed in the 2002 US Nationals, where he placed 1st. He had an MTV special regarding his experience in the Olympics, as well as landed a modeling gig with Tommy Hilfiger Jeans, modeling with the president's niece, Lauren Bush. Jeremy attended Loveland High School and was the star football player of their team, as well as a track 2x state champion. He was offered a 5 year scholarship to play football for the Buffs at the University of Colorado. However, the NCAA's regulation prohibits Jeremy from making money from skiing endorsments and well as competing in NCAA football. Therefore, Jeremy, with such a strong love for football, gave up all of his skiing endorsements to play for the Colorado buffs. Now he a sophmore at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he is a wide-receiver for the Buffs. However, he is also planning to ski this winter for the US Freestyle team, and is training for the 2006 Winter Games in Italy.
