After attending Schiner University and the University of New Mexico (on a partial swimming scholarship), Jeff Andrus enlisted in the US Navy, during which time he trained on different weapons systems, ran an armory, and was a pilot rescue swimmer.After six years in the Navy, he left the service and moved to San Francisco. While there, he worked various jobs, eventually ending up at the Academy of Art College.In 1990, Andrus then moved to Austin, Texas where he worked at the Preforming Arts Center (PAC) at the University of Texas.That same year he began work as a technician in the Grip department where his credits include: My Boyfriend's Back (1990), Dazed and Confused (1993), Office Space (1999), Cast Away (2000), Spider-Man (2002), "Reno 911!" (2003), The Italian Job (2003), The Missing (2003), True Grit (2010) among many others.In 2001, Andrus married a Foreign Service Officer and has spent much of the last 10 years living abroad. He has lived in Bucharest, Romania, Doha Qatar and Baghdad, Iraq. In addition, he has traveled thru most of Europe and Asia. Much of his free time is spent writing and he has had several travel pieces published in variety of magazines.In addition, a collection of short stories is expected to see print in the near future under the title of "The Thief of Light." He has also written two unpublished novels. Andrus is a certified diver.Furthermore, he reads and speaks Romanian at an intermediate level and speaks Arabic (Gulf and Iraqi) at a basic level.
