He was an actor and writer, known for Les Misérables (1982), Bouvard et Pecuchet (1990) and Le grand blond avec une chaussure noire (1972). He was previously married to Raymonde Machet. He died on April 20, 1994 in Sèvres, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
