Born in Ventura County, California. Jason Muñoz is the oldest son of Michael Muñoz and Allison Clark. His parents soon divorced after the birth of their second son. Jason was raised in Southern and Central California, bouncing back and fourth from each household. His parents realized his charisma very early on and entered him into the Ventura County Fair Baby Contest where he won 1st Place before the age of One. Not only was he and his brother the starry eyed entertainers in family home videos and talent shows, but they often found themselves in newspaper clippings for community events and children performances. Soon after, his parents were approached by a talent agent to start on his auditions in film and TV work in Hollywood. Jason would go on to make a few commercials between 3-5 years old. One Chaquita Fruit Bar commercial went national. He received his SAG card for his work. Shortly after, his parents abruptly pulled him from professional acting. They struggled with the notion Jason might be susceptible to growing into a tormented childhood star. Instead, Jason continued performing in school plays, choir, band, community events, talent shows and fundraisers throughout his lifetime. At 8 years old, both Jason and his brother won 2nd Place at Sonora Street Festival and sang as a duo 'Kokomo' by The Beach Boys on the radio station. At 10 years old, he was singularly picked as the only elementary school student to perform with the high school honor band for their concert performance; he played drums. During his teenage years, Jason studied Speech and Performing Arts under the mentoring of Marilyn Bjork at Los Altos Jr High School. During his two years in attendance, he competed in the El Camino Real Speech League and won three 1st Places, a 2nd Place, and took home 1st Place In Drama at the Championship Tournament, including 'Best Speaker' and 'Best Actor' for his school (1993-94). Jason also competed in the Southern California Optimist Speech Contest and won 2nd Place in the Semi Finals (1994). It was during this time where Jason was introduced to Star Trek and found a new fascination in science fiction and video productions. Marilyn assisted Jason in setting up a Career Day opportunity at Paramount Pictures Studios where Jason got to interview Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation) on set for the day. Jonathan has been Jason's role model in acting and directing achievements. Additionally through the school, Jason met Cathy Foxhoven (soap opera actress/acting teacher) whom Jason studied acting lessons with and motivated him to audition in Los Angeles once again. A few years later, Jason would volunteer as security at the Grand Slam Convention in Pasadena, where he would meet the U.S.S. Angeles crew - a group of Star Trek fans located around Los Angeles County who meet up to watch Star Trek episodes and go on away missions around Southern California. It was at this point where Jason and the crew collaborated together to make their first fan film 'The Price of Duty' (1996). The film was viewed at private screenings, but through word of mouth the interest grew to continue making an episodic series 'Voyages of the U.S.S. Angeles ' (1996-97). Jason would contribute in acting, camerawork, directing, producing, casting, make-up, stunts, costuming, props, location scouting, and even teaching colleagues how to act in in front of a green screen. The series was canceled after season one due to growing creative conflicts amongst the executive producers, and thus the video production crew branched off to create Hidden Frontier Productions. UPN News got word of some leaked footage and put the cast and crew on News at 9. Rather than have Paramount Pictures shutdown the production, UPN used the cast as a token 'Trek' club for News interviews pertaining to season finales, movie releases and NEW series promotions for the real Star Trek series. Jason would continue through season one of Hidden Frontier until receiving an offer as a stage performer for Walt Disney Resorts. Like a dream come true, Jason performed on stage at Disneyland and California Disney Grand Opening. Unfortunately, due to Disney's low wages, he had to move on to other opportunities. Before long, he found himself around the Southwest states and out in Texas where he continued his college credits while working for big corporations like Newman Marcus. While in Texas, Jason continued to audition for upcoming shows like American Idol (2002, 2004, 2005), Star Search (2002), and The Voice (2007). He even tried out for The Biggest Loser (2004, 2006, 2008), but he was told he was too small to win. Jason later found new hobbies to pass the time. He was introduced to rugby and joined the Dallas Diablos for a season as a Hooker/Prop (2003). He also joined Outtakes Film Festival as a film critic (2006). Jason was also a Special Events Coordinator and Tour guide for Connections Club at Richland College (2005), and a Youth Leader and Events Coordinator for Youth First Texas (2008-09). During a karaoke contest, Jason was approached by singing members of The Turtle Creek Chorale who invited him to audition. He became a singing member of the TCC (2004-2008) under the direction of Tim Seelig and would perform at venues such as the Meyerson Symphony Center and The Magestic Theater in Dallas, TV/radio performances and is credited on CD's and documentaries. Jason was credited in a few independent films while living in Texas. He also returned to Hidden Frontier Productions for a few cameo appearances and voice acting roles. In the last few years, Jason has been spotted across the nation in various fashions. He spent some time in Arizona working with Pink Jeep Tours and rock hunting in Sedona, AZ (2013). He also took on the role of Talent Manager and Event Coordinator for Y.T.G. where he sat on the board committee for Your True Gender Conference held in San Luis Obispo (2015). He can sometimes be found singing at various events and weddings, or acting as a press release Liason at comic and sci-fi conventions nationwide. Show less «
