Jarrett Lee Conaway is an award-winning writer / director. His feature directing debut, the teen comedy Mono, from Fox Digital Studio released on Netflix this year and stars Kathryn Newton (Paranormal Activity 4), Sam Lerner (Project Almanac) and top social media stars. Jarrett directed two seasons of the horror comedy Bite Me for Machinima and Lionsgate which earned three 2013 Streamy Award nominations including Best Action or Sci-Fi series. The series aired on the FEARnet channel and has over 35 million views online. In 2013, Jarrett sold and developed a one hour drama pilot entitled EXP for the CW and Warner Bros TV with executive producer Tim Kring (Heroes Reborn).Jarrett's career started in 2007 when he wrote and directed Anthem, a sci-fi fable about two explorers who discover a time-capsule buried by the refugees of a nuclear war. The short film propelled Jarrett to nation-wide exposure when he was chosen by Steven Spielberg, from a pool of 12,000 filmmakers, to appear on the FOX reality competition On the Lot.During his MFA studies at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Jarrett studied under Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis in performance capture directing. Inspired by the course, Jarrett wrote and directed the sci-fi action thesis film TURBO, starring Justin Chon (Twilight, 21 & Over). The short received rave reviews from many sites including: MTV Movie News, Short of the Week, and Ain't it Cool News. TURBO went on to win several awards including The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation's College Television Award for Outstanding Children's Program and the Caucus Foundation's Gold Circle Award.As part of Film Independent's Project: Involve Fellowship, Jarrett wrote and directed the Vanity Fair & Banana Republic sponsored short film Foolishly Seeking True Love starring Angela Sarafyan (Westworld).
