Janden Hale was born on October 25, 1979 in Columbia, South Carolina. His birth name is Daniel Elmer Donche, Jr. He has two younger brothers, David and Shawn; David died in 1984 at the age of 6 months. He was raised mainly in Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming, where he stayed from the age of 12 until he joined the US Air Force in 2002 follow the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. He graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming.He originally wanted to be a novelist, and wrote his first book, Jester's Down, in 2001. Since then he has had numerous stories published, along with a self-published tarot deck, which he authored and illustrated, in 2012. The deck went on to win two awards, and is listed as one of the Top 50 tarot decks to own, as determined by a poll of over 13,000 people. His creative endeavors eventually landed him both behind and in front of a camera. In 2012 he collaborated with fellow Casperite, Dustin Carpenter, to co-create Proxy Influence (2012). He frequently works with fellow Colorado director Gary Stevens on a number of short film projects and a new web TV anthology. His job in the Air Force as a member of the Tactical Air Control Party put him in close proximity with another TACP filmmaker, Jarred Taylor, who helped him land a role as an extra in Range 15 (2016).
