Jan attended St Teresa's Primary School and St Joseph's College. He studied design with another artist, Eric Kot, in Caritas Bianchi College of Careers. After graduation, Jan worked at Esprit for a while and then started his career at Commercial Radio 2 of Hong Kong. Promptly he became one of the most famous Disc Jockeys in Hong Kong.
