Jamie Durie, is a qualified horticulturalist and multi-award-winning international landscape designer that shares his time in Australia and the United States. Born in Australia, he is Founder and Director of his international design firm Durie Design established in 1998, and he is also the author of 9 books (100 Gardens, Jamie Durie's The Outdoor Room, Outside, The Source Book Editions 1 and 2, Inspired, Outdoor Kids, The Outdoor Room and Patio). Jamie has hosted and produced multiple television shows both in the United States and Australia with his core television show, The Outdoor Room, currently airing in both countries, and publishes a regular magazine that carries the same title. A committed environmentalist and pioneer of 'The Outdoor Room' concept, Jamie has greatly impacted the face of landscape design, inspiring a whole new generation to rediscover their gardens in new ways.Undoubtedly one of Australia's most recognizable talents, Jamie has hosted many of Australia's top-rating television programs, including The Outdoor Room, Top Design, Australia's Best Backyards, Backyard Blitz-for which he received the Logie award for Most Popular New Male Talent, as well as six consecutive Logie awards for Most Popular Lifestyle Program for each year on air, The Block and Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice. In the US, Jamie's show The Outdoor Room, launched on HGTV in January 2010, is now in its fourth season of production. He also hosts White Room Challenge, HGTV Dream Home, HGTV Green Home, HGTV'd, Bang for Your Buck, HGTV Showdown, and America's longest running gardening program The Victory Garden, which airs on PBS.
