Born in New Orleans on August 21, 1952, to Joyce Veal Brown and James Marshall Brown, Jr. in uptown New Orleans. James Marshall Brown111 and family moved to the Lower Ninth Ward. The Lower Nine as it was called was home to some famous folks such as, Fats Domino, Jessie Hill, Lee Dorsey just to name a few. James grew up around the hall of fame entertainers. Yet the entertainment blood didn't take over until late in his life. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, James came back to the city like many others to rebuild. A friend had told him about the film industry booming in the city right before and now after the storm. James got some background work with TNT's K-Ville, and that's when it all started. Even after the writer's strike put a stop on filming James got a call thru a friend to read for a local community Theater for the stage play, "A Soldier's Story" directed by veteran actor Anthony Bean of ABCT. Soaking up all the training and knowledge from veteran actors like Harold X Evans, Gwendolyn Foxworth, Wilbert Williams, Jr. He went on his journey. James signed on with an agent after she attended one of his stage performances. Soon after moving from background to featured roles to auditions James earned his SAG Eligible status. Not wasting any time he became SAG in 2009 to present. You can see James on several local and national commercials. James says his preference is commercials. After retiring from the business world James is dedicated to full time acting and teaching the art to his two ten-year-old granddaughters, Maddy and Trin. Maddy has several films under her belt already. James is married to Jacquelyn Madison Brown for forty years with two children, James IV, and Brittney.
