James Furey was born and raised in a small town in the Mid-Ohio Valley. At a young age he discovered that he loved film and enjoyed entertaining others. Ignoring his true passion he spent many of his early years pursuing sports all the while feeling as if he belonged somewhere else. His love of football carried him to college where he walked on to his then University of South Carolina football team led by legendary gridiron coach Lou Holtz. James impressed early at his initial tryouts with a natural speed and athleticism that made up for his lack of experience and earned a roster spot on the team under coach Holtz. As the years progressed James would eventually earn his degree in Media Arts and left college behind only to find himself pursuing sports again. Soon after leaving college James attended an open tryout with a Georgia based Arena Football team (AFL) . Again impressing with speed and athleticism he was invited to training camp that same year. In preparation for training camp James suffered a torn plantar fascia tendon that would eventually put to rest his career. As James had always been taught to do by his grandmother he looked at this door closing as a chance to open another door. That newly opened door being the one true passion he had always felt in his heart to be entertaining whether it be in front of an enormous crowd or in front of a camera.James realized his next step was to approach training himself in this new acting craft much as he trained himself athletically in the years prior. He realized that if he carried the same relentless and passionate attitude into his newly budding film career that the sky could be the limit. Over the next few years James trained his mind, body, and acting instrument to be the best he possibly could when called upon in front of the camera. James would attend countless acting classes and personal coaching sessions to sharpen his craft. Over the course of that time James attended his first audition for a film entitled "Survival". His audition went well and he landed the role of Greg in the film. During the filming of Survival James was finally able to reunite with the inner actor he had been hiding inside him for so many years and has never looked back since. Finally discovering his true calling in life James had been filled with an incredible energy and undeniable love in his heart for bringing film to life through the expression of acting.Through his years of athletic, martial arts, stage combat, and acting training James feels he brings an arsenal of abilities and attributes to a film. He prides himself in his ability to adapt and adjust to any role he may tackle having taken on roles in comedy, drama, action and horror in front of the camera. Horror being James favorite genre is one in which he has immensely enjoyed building his reputation in but he has always found happiness in working outside horror in all realms as well.James's enjoyment and success hasn't been limited to just acting. He has also found great pleasure in producing two films as well as writing. Whatever his future holds in this business James feels he is finally walking down the entertainment path he was meant to follow and feels a sense of inner peace working in the industry of his one true passion in life. James believes that his hard work, dedication, commitment to excellence, and overall positive demeanor will continue to push him to new heights as he progresses his career forward. Show less «
