Jacques Sebag was born in Marrakech, Morocco and moved to the United States as a teenager. Although always a student of acting, the realities of life interfered and he became a successful lawyer and devoted father. While stage and film have always been his passion, until recently he honed his theatrical skills in court.In 2004, Sydney Pollack was seeking an authentic legal interpreter for his upcoming film and discovered Jacques Sebag. Jacques' beautiful French accent and commanding presence were the perfect fit for the role for which he was then chosen, that of the French Ambassador in "The Interpreter" starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, written by Charles Randolph, Scott Frank and Steve Zailian scheduled for release in April 2005. The Interpreter is the first film ever allowed to shoot in the United Nations. Jacques' scene takes place in the actual Security Council of the UN where he delivers a speech calling upon the world to respond to genocide in an African nation.Shortly before, he was chosen for a completely different character type as a child molesting stepfather in the independent film "Sequence" written and directed by Ana Blanco.Currently, he is writing and directing a documentary entitled "The Tenth Man". This film is a unique view of the Jewish Minyan and its role in the perseverance of Judaism.Jacques Sebag speaks fluent English, French and Spanish, with a working knowledge of Hebrew and Arabic. His charming demeanor makes him perfect for light, flirty, romantic roles while his dark features, piercing eyes, handsome appearance, language skills, versatility and knowledge of law make him ideal for all sides of the current terrorism issue, i.e. law enforcement, terrorist, spy, etc.He is a proud member of SAG and currently lives in New York City.
