Jacob Jaffke is an award winning producer and filmmaker who has found success in nearly every side of the industry since entering it nearly a decade ago. Recently, Jaffke was the Head of Feature Film Development & Production for producer director Tate Taylor and his Wyolah Films. Before that he worked in the same capacity for Eric Newman ("Narcos", "Children of Men", "Robocop") and his Studiocanal backed co-venture, Grand Electric. In his role, he supervised the development of nearly two dozen features including the adaptation of the Trevor Lummis book "Life & Death in Eden" penned by 2014 Black List screenwriter Kristina Anderson and an adaptation of Robert Scheckley's short story "Prize of Peril".He produced the feature film "In a Valley of Violence", marking his fourth collaboration with filmmaker Ti West. The film stars Ethan Hawke & John Travolta and won over audiences at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival where it was awarded a "BUZZ Screening" slot as one of the most talked about films of the festival ahead of its release by Focus World later in the year. Also making its "World Premiere" at SXSW in 2016 was filmmaker & comedian Mike Birbiglia's heavily lauded sophomore feature "Don't Think Twice", starring Keegan-Michael Key & Gillian Jacobs, on which Jaffke advised as a consulting producer. In 2013, he produced Ti West's critically acclaimed film "The Sacrament", which premiered at the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals. He also produced Mike Birbiglia's crowd-pleasing directorial debut "Sleepwalk With Me", which received the "Best of NEXT Audience Award" at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. His work on both films earned him a nomination for the 2014 "Independent Spirit Piaget Producer Award". Other producing credits include Carter Smith's "Jamie Marks is Dead", Whit Stillman's "Damsels in Distress", Joe Maggio's "Bitter Feast", Xan Cassavetes' "Kiss of the Damned", as well as Ti West's "The Innkeepers".Before completing his MFA in Film Producing at Columbia University in 2010, Jaffke produced "Off Season", a short film that earned him and director Jonathan van Tulleken a 2010 BAFTA nomination. Other honors include the 2010 Columbia University Film Festival's "Entertainment Partners Best Producer Award", the 2010 Producer's Guild of America's "Debra Hill Fellowship", and a 2010 Caucus Foundation Grant.
