Being one of only a couple white kids on an Indian reservation, he was harassed and bullied by the Indian kids. He began to turn to food for comfort which led to a problem with obesity. He then got picked on for being big.When he was 14, he came out as a gay man and began to attend Ogden OUTreach, a queer youth resource center in northern Utah. He would later become a volunteer to pay it forward to kids in the area.At age 21, he was cast on "The Biggest Loser" season 14 to try and get his weight under control.
