South African actress and model Inge Uys (pronounced Inga Ice) was born on October 5th, 1990 in Pretoria, South Africa. She was born to Johan Uys, a farmer and entrepreneur, and Gretel Uys, a pharmacist. While in middle school, Uys emigrated from the farm town Ermelo, located in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa, to the United States. She emigrated with her parents and two sisters, Melissa and Christine, and settled in the small horse town of Ocala, Florida. It was at Ocala's performing arts school that Uys started acting after being accepted into the program her junior year of high school. Upon graduating, she moved to Orlando, Florida and studied acting at the University of Central Florida where she was one of six women accepted into the Bachelor of Fine Arts acting program. Uys played a variety of theatrical roles until she took a camera-based auditioning class and decided to focus on film acting. She started doing commercial work after getting representation with a local Orlando agent. The agent discovered and signed Uys after seeing her on-camera final for the auditioning class she was taking at the time. Her first lead in a feature film was her portrayal of Haima Kellis in the action thriller Haima. She was then cast in the feature film The Laughing Mask of Vengeance and several subsequent short films.When she is not acting, her hobbies include cooking, dancing, reading, watching movies, seeing improvisation shows and live theatre, exploring the outdoors, exercising and spending time with loved ones.
