Ilana Mayes was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She was raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where she attended school at Fontbonne Academy in Milton, Massachusetts. Her father John Larry Mayes the Chief of Human Services for the City of Boston under the service of late former Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino and is now the Vice President of Catholic Charities, her mother Sadiemarie (Mayes) is a tenured music teacher and Music Department Head. With the artistic genes flowing, Ilana began performing at a young age in recitals as well as school productions and musicals. She has been trained in theatre, as well as vocals and choreography.She further pursued her love of the arts and media, and attended the University of Maine, Emerson College and the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she procured a BA in Theatre Arts and Film. After interning, at Walden Media, Ilana began to pursue not just the world of the arts but the Entertainment Industry.In 2012, she joined SAG after working on the production, Grown Ups 2 (2013). From there she continued to work in the industry in the New England circuit, and in 2015 moved to Los Angeles.
