Originally from a town of only 602 people, Herman Johansen is now a Los Angeles actor, director and writer. He earned his Equity card (after moving to Kansas City in his mid-40s) during an 88-performance run of Fiddler on the Roof and continued to work across seven states. Since moving to LA, he has enjoyed success in a variety of short films (one of which has played festivals in three countries so far), indie features and television. His training, intensity and dry humor have led to highly praised performances of richly flawed and complex characters. His personal interests include reading paperbacks, cooking, hiking (including several of Colorado's Fourteeners), cigars and travel. Herman is a sucker for anything that flies and has been airborne in everything from a vintage open-cockpit canvas plane to hot air balloons and a glider over the Pacific. In addition to acting, Herman has extensive theatre directing and casting credits and is a writer (one of his plays was selected for the 2015 NY International Fringe Festival). And he's always ready to show you pictures of his grandchildren... Member: AEA, SAG-AFTRA.
