Helen is an actor, writer and director is best known for new writing, drama, Shakespeare and comedy. She works across the board on TV, Film, Radio and Theatre.In 2016 Helen has a large number of exciting new projects. She has a number of new TV shows she is presenting, is directing various projects, acting in a number of exciting new projects and is returning to Artemis Women in Action Films as a Judge. She also continues to be seen at various award ceremonies either presenting or performing including Planet London Awards, London Short Film Festival, London Screenwriters Festival and Artemis Women in Action Films, LA. A feature film written by Helen Oakleigh is set to go later this year too.She has a unique training & experience. With a Degree in English & Creative Studies (Acting, Directing & Writing) during which her play "Driver" won a play writing competition to be produced. A Post Graduate Diploma in Screen Acting from Redroofs Film and Television School at Bray Film Studios which saw commercials she wrote being produced and a Diploma in Directing and Video Production which again saw her script "A Midsummer Nightmare" being voted for as the script to produce.Acting on stage includes the title role in "The Snow Queen", "The Comedy of Errors", "Hamlet", "Macbeth", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "As You Like It", "Taming of The Shrew", Sylvia in "Stepping Out", abridged & starred in "Female Transport", Mrs Moore in "Music Hall", White Witch in "The Magician's Nephew" & "The Wizard of Oz" many more including No.1 Tour of celebrity comedy "The Naked Truth". Her portrayal of Titania won her Best Actor from GDS. Directing work ranges from "NewsRevue" at Canal Cafe (London 2012), UK tour of "The Tempest", "The Winter's Tale" at The Rose Theatre, Bankside, "The Bald Prima Donna" at The Space and a number of new writing pieces at The Old Red Lion Theatre, Angel. Helen wrote & directed "Roundabout" screening at a number of festivals & nominated for Best Film. She teaches master classes in Shakespeare, character work, screen acting, script work & how to direct across the UK. She was the winner of "Best Director" for short film "Happy Days". Helen has acted in or directed most of these plus both played lead role Keren and co-directed "Fight For The Remote".Writing is how Helen began in the industry before training she already had her own column, poetry published and won a song writing competition. At university her play "Driver" won a competition to be produced, at film school her film script "A Midsummer Nightmare" was chosen to be produced and her play "Friends For Life" shortlisted for The Verity Bargate Award & Sara Sugarman Bursaries enabling her to study writing at RADA whilst it was produced at The Millfield Theatre, London.
