Gregory Calpakis was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. He is an actor, known for iZombie (2015), Gilrfriends' Guide to Divorce (2014-15), The Chris Isaak Show (2004), Andromeda (2004), Liberty Stands Still (2002), Stardom (2000) and Cold Squad (1998). Calpakis is best known for his role as Det. Nicco Sevallis in 59 episodes of the police procedural television series Cold Squad, from 1999-2003.He is the second of two children of a stay-at-home mother, Jeanne LePellle, and an Electrical Engineer father, Harry Calpakis. After graduating from high school, Greg enrolled at the University of Montreal Business School (HEC) pursuing a BBA degree.After his second year of studies and appearing as Danny Shapiro in the student production of David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago. Greg enrolled into a 2-year program with Uta Hagen & Carol Rosenfeld at HB Studios in the West Village, Manhattan. Shortly thereafter, he began to seek work as an actor, and continued studying under the tutelage of Warren Robertson.His first paid acting role was playing Edward Furlong' buddy Dan, in the feature film Brainscan, (1994) directed by John Flynn. Through the later part of the 90's Greg worked in both movies and television and in 2000 was chosen to play Jessica Pare' lover, NHL's hockey winger Steve Bourque, in Denys Arcand's feature film Stardom. While on set with Denys Arcand, Denys suggested to Greg that he could benefit from meeting with Deidra Bowen, Head of Alliance Casting. Later that spring the inevitable happened, Greg met with Deidra Bowen and she cast him to play Detective Nicco Sevallis in the police procedural television series Cold Squad, from summer 1999 to 2003. Along with his work on numerous episodic television shows, Calpakis has appeared in 8 films working alongside such incredible talents as, John Malkovich, Greta Scacchi, Dan Aykroyd, Jessica Pare, Jamie Sheridan, Marlee Matlin, Jeff Fahey and Lee Tergesen.Calpakis is a dual US/Canadian citizen.
