Greg Dorchak was born in Virgina and grew up in Upstate New York. He is the youngest of four children of a Forest Ranger and a Nurse. He attended the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in the Film Studies program, married while still in college and worked in the graphic arts/publishing field while raising the family. He started doing stand-up comedy and improv right out of high school at the age of 17 in Las Vegas, and continued when he moved to Austin, Texas in the early 90's. He wrote and performed sketch comedy after co-forming an improv/sketch group, and then writing and performing with Esther's Follies, a staple in the Austin comedy scene. Greg writes for film, and co-headed a screenwriters' group in Austin for a number of years; this group created a pitch festival that brought industry pros to Texas to talk with aspiring writers.
