Grant Santino was born in Britain in North West London and from an early age was a keen sportsman. Not only did he compete in athletics competitions at county level when he was at school but he was also in the British gymnastics squad and trained in several different martial arts up to second degree black belt.The soundtrack to Grant's early teenage years included everything from David Bowie to the Jackson Five but it wasn't until Grant discovered American soul and funk music and was a Soul boy that he became really passionate about disco music.Grant was part of the vibrant underground soul scene that was going on in Britain in the late 70's and he was a regular at all the soul clubs. It was in those clubs that he learnt to dance and honed his abilities as a dancer as he tested his prowess against countless opponents in one on one dance battles.At the height of Disco's popularity Grant entered the World Disco Dancing Championships, a competition that was seen by a viewing audience of over 200 million people worldwide. After several weeks of grueling competition and by combining the dance styles he had learnt in the soul clubs with his gymnastics and martial arts abilities, Grant emerged victorious from the competition as the UK's first disco dancing champion.Since winning the competition Grant has appeared extensively in film and on television including in the making of "The Empire Strikes Back" (Star Wars), The Bitch (1979) (starring Joan Collins), the "Mortal Kombat 2" ad (as Sub Zero), the "Kenny Everett Show" and as a resident dancer on "Top Of The Pops". He has also appeared in numerous adverts and music videos and has toured extensively as a singer and a dancer.After a successful career as a performing artiste in the entertainment industry Grant has run a number of businesses since the early 90's including a Dot Com, for which he raised nearly £2 million pounds and several music production companies which have had projects signed to major record labels and music publishers. Grant is now running a film, television and music production company that will soon be going into production with its first major feature film. Show less «
