"Giulio Benuzzi is a pioneer of the wine and food experience in Italy. Giulio was born in Turin in 1963, and after completing his degree at the European School of Varese, has worked in the food market since 1986. He was manager/director of the famous restaurant, Le Api Osteria, in Milan until 1995. In 1996, he opened a little bed and breakfast in the South Hill of Florence that became a meeting point for American food and wines lovers. Giulio decided to create a selection of authentic daily food experiences to satisfy all the visitors' requests.In 1999, Giulio met a truffle hunter who became his best friend and teacher. The truffles world became his passion, and in 2003 Giulio obtained the Italian truffle license. Since 2005, he has spent his daily time researching the black and white truffle all around Tuscany. In early 2009, Giulio became the official truffle hunter of a Florence tour operator, specializing in daily wine and food experiences. With his truffle dogs, Eda and Maga, he satisfies all the truffle hunting requests from his Tuscan farmhouse.Giulio is member of the Tuscan truffle association, Associazione Tartufai delle Colline della Bassa Valdelsa, and is also member of the Florentine Slow Food Association. He works closely with a variety of five-star hotels in Florence and Tuscany, as well as luxury tour operators from Italy and abroad, to design truffle experiences for guests from all around the world.
