Jennifer "Gin" Cooley is a professional model, an indie singer/songwriter, actress, film festival winner and is particularly known for her cameos in some of country music's top music videos for artists such as Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Casey James, Rodney Atkins, and Joe Nichols. She started her modeling career at 16, signing with BMG Chicago. BMG felt Gin's look was too commercial for the international market. Two months later she dropped BMG and signed with industry expert and manager, the late JJ Cortez in New York City. At 17, she signed with Elite Models Singapore, which launched her international career. She walked for Christian Dior's "Hardcore" show not even 6 months on the scene. She was represented by LookNow in Milan, Italy and later signed with Riccardo Gay walking in Milan Fashion Week seasons 2003, 2004 and 2005. Gin graced magazine covers and editorials all over the world. She also had representation in Shanghai and Taipei. Later, Gin signed with Supreme, the baby face division of Women Models in New York City. At the time, it was the 2nd largest agency in the world representing some of the worlds most well known super models. She is currently (2013-present) with Click Models of Atlanta, alongside industry veteran, Niki Taylor. Gin decided to switch gears and focus on education, writing and performing. She finished her undergrad degree at Bethel University Magna Cum Laude and went on to continue her graduate studies in Psychology at the University of Tennessee Martin. She attended Murray State University when she was just 16 years old where she studied fine art, but dropped out to focus on the opportunity to model professionally. Gin has always had a strong voice when it comes to social issues. She struggled with the modeling industry's all too familiar controversy of women being too thin, and too young. While in New York, at a size 0/2, she was constantly threatened to be dropped if she gained any weight. This never set well with her. While attending school in the United States, Gin fell back on her musical passions: singing and writing. She is a classically trained alto vocalist, but is highly influenced by blues, rock, southern gospel and indie sounds. She began in Atlanta recording and singing with multi-talented artist/producer Chris Unck, who is most known for his works with Butch Walker, Lisa Loebe and PINK. She's also collaborated and performed with Iration's Micah Brown. Gin released an international club single "Breathin to the Rhythm" with DJ Charlie P on Abstract Logic Recordings in 2011. She taught herself how to record music, and produced musical works geared around social issues: substance abuse and violence, political injustices, judiciary misconduct and corruption. She linked up with award winning independent film maker Jeff Wyatt Wilson, and created 2 indie shorts that screened and premiered all over the world, on next to zero budget. She won the Canada International Film Festival in 2013 in Vancouver, and screened at the Memphis International Film and Music Festival that same year. In 2015, she solely produced a musical work and co-directed a musical short titled "Oval Room" with Jeff Wyatt Wilson, which screened at the Mykonos Biennale, the Toronto Film Festival, the Harlem International Film Festival, the San Pedro International Film Festival and was Honorable Mentioned at the Huntington Beach Film Festival in 2016. As a performer, writer, director and model her emphasis consists of conceptual and collaborative pieces through mixed media with other visual artists. Gin is a natural on the screen, and the camera has always loved her. She became the go-to girl/model to star in several country music video hits between 2011 and 2015. She has also worked on the ABC's hit show "Nashville" and USA's "Necessary Roughness". Show less «
