Gabe Reed is a former concert promoter who specialized in producing South American concert tours for bands like KISS and Motley Crue. In 2012, Reed created the Rock N' Roll All Stars brand, which featured Gene Simmons performing alongside other Rock N Roll Hall of Famers from Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, and Deep Purple. The resulting concert tour was featured in A&E's Gene Simmons' Family Jewels in 2012. Unfortunately, that tour would be the peak of Reed's music business career. From that point forward, Reed's life would take a self-destructive downward spiral that would end with his going to federal prison in 2018 where he served 25 months before being transferred to home confinement. Reed's rise and fall in the music business was the subject of a lengthy profile published by Rolling Stone magazine in February 2019. The story follows Reed's path from his teenage years as an aspiring rock star in the 1980s Sunset strip hair metal scene that culminated in his being featured alongside Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne in the 1988 Penelope Spheeris directed cult film classic The Decline of the Western Civilization II: The Metal Years to his meteoric rise in the music business to his catastrophic downfall and eventual incarceration. Reed is rumored to be working on his memoirs.
